These files are taken from the cartographic template of the same version. They have have a nominal scaling.

I created the first version of the gradient, in collaboration with other “Wikicartographers” on WP-fr, a few years ago when I started to draw physical maps using DEM data. Along the years I made several improvements to the template until the current stable 2.0 version.
This template, used in all new physical maps created on WP-fr and also by several other map-creators in other languages, allows us to harmonize our maps and have a specific style on Wikipedia with colors specifically chosen for a display on monitor which permit good separation of the levels on topographic maps.
